The project site is located on the south area of Qingming Bridge
historic block in Wuxi. The area is also a significant part of the WorldCultural Heritage ‘China Grand Canal’ which is one of the most famousattractions to reflect local culture, urban history, Jiangnan water towncharacteristic, and traditional street space.The project design focus on how the masterplan can continue theurban fabric, how the architectural design can reflect the traditionalstyle, and how the space making can reflect traditional street andlandscape space based on the site spacial background. The design aimsto create a culture experience and tourismdestination along theancient canal which can display local characteristics based on the land
use and the marketing positioning. The function includes a retail streetand a hotel mixed use.The total floor area of the project is about 16915 Sqms. All buildingsare designed 2 and 3 floors based on the height control and thetraditional building style. The first floor of the hotel are retail andservice spaces which are open for the public and the hotel second andthird floor are private rooms. The function of the retail street includeshotel managed SPA and traditional medical centre, F&B and cultureexperience stores, which are connected with the existing pedestrianstreet along the canal and the urban public space.
