William Lim
On June 24, 2023, the IAI Hall of Fame Award ceremony was held at Howard Johnson by Wyndham Jimei Lake Plaza, Xiamen. After the introduction and classic works of the inductee of the IAI Hall of Fame were broadcast on the top of the screen, IAI Design Award Chairman Oskar Ho and Jimei District Party Secretary Hu Xubin announced the winner of the award as Hong Kong designer William Lim, and the applause was thunderous, which was the most eye-catching moment on the scene. Mr. Lim is the first designer who received this honor at the IAI ceremony offline.
IAI recognizes Mr. Lim's long-standing efforts to continuously innovate and develop in the field of design and even art, as well as his social responsibility embodied in his personal career as a designer. At the same time, Mr. Lim has been actively participating in IAI , and has won 13 IAI design awards in total, becoming one of the designers who has won the most awards and the highest level of works in the history of IAI. He won three gold medals in the first Asia Pacific Interior Design Biennial Grand Prix in 2006, and won the gold, silver and bronze awards in the second IAI Asia Pacific Interior Design Biennial Grand Prix in 2008. In 2010, he participated in the 4th Asia Pacific Interior Design Biennial Award and won two Best Design Awards and Best Lighting Design Awards. In 2012, he participated in the 6th Asia Pacific Interior Design Biennial Grand Prix, won the Best Interior Design Award, and was selected as the most influential designer of the year honor. Then Mr. Lim participated in the 8th IAI Design Award and won the Grand Prize, and won the IAI Global Wine Brand Design Master Special Invitation Award in 2017. In 2022, he participated in the IAI Global Design Awards and won the Best Design Award and Silver Award again. Voted by the IAI juries, Mr. Lim was inducted as a new member of the IAI Hall of Fame.
