KizFive is a benchmark kid-friendly restaurant in Guangzhou that combines amusement with catering to offer an enjoyable experience and more interaction between children and parents during eating. The designer imagined the special color and decoration of the restaurant based on the artworks of Matisse, a famous Fauvist painter and Picasso's contemporary, whose paintings’ intense striking effect use block colors and blunt brushstrokes. The bright colors and obvious contrast enable children’s positive cognitive growth on color and spatial thinking. This color composition can also provide a relaxed and vivid atmosphere to the space. The original Multi-Kids Space model is adopted in the overall design idea and spatial layout, which centers on three cores of Feeling, Entertainment and Delicacy. The Feeling area comprises a reading area, a makeup area and a shopping-baking area. This is the most important interactive area between parents and children, and also an area to cultivate children's learning and hands-on ability. The Entertainment area includes a theater area, a sand box and ball pit, giving children a place to relax and play. Not limited to a particular area, the Delicacy covers simple meals of up to Michelin level cuisine and down to desserts created by emerging online celebrities. In addition to making children have fun, the restaurant offers high-quality service for accompanying parents.
