Canal Storytelling Center

The project is a dilapidated grain depot left over from history. The original intention is to transform the grain depot into a new place for local people to listen to books and plays.
The design elements are refined from the traditional music, traditional dance and traditional drama in the list of local intangible cultural heritage, and summarized into several main design materials such as rammed earth, wood structure, red brick and rattan weaving. In terms of style and tone, we continue to use the characteristics of red brick, red wall and red tile of local folk houses, and take brick red and wood color as the main visual color of the space in the whole space. The wooden structure is used as the second floor space to highlight the structural aesthetics of the wooden structure. On the other hand, the wooden structure is attached to the space tone of simplicity.
